Hey I have a 1986 Dodge Daytona. 2.2L non turbo. I was wondering if it is possible to put a professional Intake on a throttle body Injected engine. It probably isnt due to common sense I am just wondering if it is possible. Does anybody else on this board have a Dodge daytona? I love mine.

Anything is possible with a little fabrication. Except for the fact that I'm too broke i keep looking into the carb bonnets on summit, one of those could be easily modified to work with a TBI. At least I think they could...

it is certainly possible, and is just one way to get morer performance from a non-turbo 2.2 or 2.5. ; there are a number of cheap and easy mods to get a little more power from your TBI car ; start at thedodgegarage.com , and also browse past posts in this forum

aftermarket intakes & weber carbs, etc are not very popular mods mainly because the parts are expensive and in the long run you can make more horsepower for less money by doing a turbo swap

but if you're interested check out this article on a 180 horsepower carbureted 2.2 I have on my website

http://www.cee.mtu.edu/~detobias/8_86_HotRod.pdf

there are other interesting articles as well as info on my car(s) at

http://www.cee.mtu.edu/~detobias/vehicles.html

PS there are lots of daytonas and Lazers in ths group

I've seen people do a four carb set up on a pinto 2.3 and the old chevette
4's with motorcycle carbs. has anyone tried that? there is no"manifold" to speak of and cause your turning the engine slower than a bike engine you can use a smaller bike engine carb.

Motorcycle carbs could work, but you better pick a style of carb in which you can find lots of jetting choices, or do what I do and that's get creative with a drill bit, lol. I can see it now, 4 mikuni carbs, lol that would never work, unless....

made a complte set of jets for our racing karts with old thrown away jets and a set of jetting drills. I relly think four mikuni's would look really hot and probly make some good power. yeah I know injectors are better in lots of ways but not as tehnically accessible. could you do an mpi type set up using stuff like they do on the bikes with real simple mifolding? maybe just cut out the section of manifold that you need with the injector then plumbing it in with radiator hose?

Flow would be shat. And if you were going to do that, why not just run an intake off a turbo car? It's not like these are great flowing heads that need all the intake they can get or something.
