I just gave my car a tune-up, had the carb cleaned and such, but I still have the problem of when I shut my car off it diesels down. Anyone else had this problem? What was it and how did you fix it?

Check the antidieseling solenoid is stiff when you wiggle that base idle rpm screw with ingition key in RUN.

Look up FSM for your car for adjusting the antidieseling minimum rpm with solenoid is disconnected using the throttle antidieseling screw.

Otherwise you have leaks.

Dieselling can also be a sign your rings are shot, fuel might be shut off okay, but with bad rings it can suck up and atomise oil, which will then go bang if everything is warm enough. So if you've been seeing blue smoke, and using up oil as well, then plan for some $$$ work. However, there could be a faint possibility that the rings are just stuck down tight with carbon and something like AutoRX or Seafoam could fix it if used repeatedly. Check what the Wizard said before worrying too much though.
