my 89 horizon has bad shifter slop, it is the cable type. how do i go about fixing that?

if its a calbe just get new cables lol and it should be a linkage style lol all mine were. but if it is the linkage style you'll probly have to look at the local dealer. lol well hope this helps.

If the vehicle is using Shifter Cables then there are 2 of them,a Selector Cable and a Cross Over Cable.If any of the Snap Grommets either on the Trans end or the Shifter end are worn or loose you will have Shifter Play.
If you have an A523,A543 or A568 Trans there are Poly Bushings available to replace the factory Plastic Snap Grommets other wise you will have to replace the cables.

i'm a moron, shut up jay, i had the clutch cable replaced. and it does have linkage.
so is their anywhere to buy them other than dealer?
