I picked up a MELLING SPD-29 cam for cheep...

Will I need anything changed in the head to run this in my 85 N/A?

Will I see any gains?

Is it worth it?

That cam uses stock liftesr. I have the spd28. Both the spd28 and 29 are stock replacements but with more torque and a little more HP.
