Does anyone know where I can get an adapter to mate a regular Holley 2-barrel to a 2.2 manifold?

holley use to carry an adapter plate but I don't think they carry it anymore. you could always make your own with a chunk of aluminum, some careful layout and some drill press time. however if you are looking for a great carb that's a direct fit, use a Weber dgv for stock butterfly size, for even better performance that the Holley 4412, use a Weber DGAS 38mm carb, it's the best for these motors.

a lot of european cars.

now here's some facts. the holley 5200 series found on the ford 2.0 pinto/ mercury capri and ford 2300 is the same basic carb as the 5220 and 6500 holley on the mopars. and guess who actually designed the carb? weber!!!!! however the Weber DGV carb has the same throttle plate design of 32mm and 36mm. just like the fords, chevy vega, and all the 2.2 mopars. even VW used this carb before FI on the rabbits.

if you are dealing with a track rules issue, the weber is legal since it is the same carb just has better tune-ability w/o emissions issues

I was going to do a 38 originally. I also have a twin 5200 setup from MP that I used to run, but when autocrossing, the jets would flood in hard right turns. I had to rejet the secondaries with very small jets.

5200s also came on the vegas, from the mid 70s. Now I have a better idea what cars to look at in the junkyard. Thanks for the info.

you'll be even more disappointed with a holley carb.

if you're having problems with fuel issue, sounds like your float level is too high. also there are many excellent sources for setting up the weber carb. I have a Weber book (like the small block chevy books you see at the auto parts store). this book had a lot of great tips on setting up the carb... sounds like you need to do some research.

Pegasis (sp) in new berlin, wi is a weber dealer with good product support. they are road race experts. there's also the carb shop in CA for another weber source. stick with the 38 carb, it is a great carb for a well built 4cyl engine. however if you do not have a lot of cam, compression etc, it is overcarburating your engine. go to a DGV 32/36 or maybe a 34/34 weber.

Googled and got this:

Pegasus Auto racing Supplies?

Does they supply parts for 32/36 DFEV?

Reason I need to source a good source of tuning kit and rebuild kit. I don't have paypal either.

Cheers, Wizard

so you got that far all by yourself, you need me to hold your hand all the way thru the process? I provided a name and city, I'm sure you could come up with the rest.

I had done some "footwork" over 'net with google and contacted several weber distributor/resellers places by email, some rebuffed my questions and where to get. Eventually one responded and sent me along to one place which I got in contact and worked out some details. I'm just holding on it for now as this comes from USA. I'd rather try to find one that is selling weber stuff in canada. So far, little success with this, just pointing it along would be helpful.

Cheers, Wizard

that doesn't surprise me. concidering the primary use of the weber carbs is in road racing, where guys have loads of cash and don't care what the cost is. why would a shop want to deal with TD mentality people

Have you ever done some snooping around the SCCA boards? I found most of my 4cyl race stuff over there. That's how I found Pegasus and it turned out that they were 5 miles from my house.

A 38 will definitely not over-carburete by engine. The twin 5200s did not. When I wen back to a single 32/36 Weber, the power reduction was VERY noticable. The enginey is mostly stock with a few SCCA -approved mods and a free-flolwing 2.5 inch exhaust. The intkae manifold is mildy ported. Basically, I want the pull I get from the 32/26 with the secondary open at part throttle. I got that with the twin 5200 setup. I also adjusted the floats many times. Smaller secondary jets solved most of the problem.
