I really doubt that you can just put on DIS from another vehicle and have it work. Being as the stock computer only controls one coil, you'd have to make something to decode the distributor output (HEP), which doesn't even tell you what cylinder is at TDC on a TBI or carb car. Like allmotor so succinctly said, DIS won't net you any gains on an N/A car or even most turbo ones.

I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. now to answer your question again. NO you don't need it. if you want to know why, do some research on your own as to what the purpose is for a balast resistor. in racing form is is totally un-needed. for drivability and ignition component longevity it is very helpful

And what your going to berate me to death on the forum? Dude, every time I talk to someone they say your the biggest Ahole on the forums, don't take life's short comings out on me. Read your post again and tell me if it looks civil, Read most of your posts. Your just a bitter old man that has to take his frustrations out on what he can. Give it a rest.As a Forum moderator for several years, I’ve dealt with your kind before and do not find you intimidating. Your kind can’t stand to be wrong due to the size of ego and can’t stand to be out of the loop to post, so you can get stroked. Also your type of poster most always has a pat answer, I did (fill in the blank), I spent (fill in the blank) and, I was or am (fill in the blank). This is to let everyone no that under no uncertain terms you are the most knowledgeable of all that reads your post right or wrong. This underscores a serious self-esteem problem. So Mr.Ego here’s a question for you, how many times you been banned, and how many alias’s do you have?

BTW thanks for the first answer.

Ya common, he gives this forum character!
Not only that but he seems to know what he's talking about which is rare around here.
