How fast are NA omni's?

lol they are little slow... but they can be made really fast!! lol if mine would of hooked up it would of been alot faster!

I've got a 83 Shelby Charger with the 2.2 HO carb 5sp. That thing is boat loads of fun to drive. I wouldn't say it's fast but I loved driving it. I don't know why I find it to be so much fun to rip around in, my satellite has a 440 and is much faster, but still, that little charger just felt like a pleasure to drive. I dunno why, it had dead, rock hard suspension, huge holes in the floor I screwed sheet metal onto, etc, etc. I would love to have one as a daily driver. Was much more fun to drive than my 87 2.5 tbi daytona was. The charger is really just a parts car, soon to donate it's great running motor/trans to my dad's rampage project.

I had an 83 Horizon in HS with crane cam, header, rejetted carb, backcut valves with stiffer springs and a 3.73:1 final drive and it would run mid 15's and spank LG4 (180HP) Z28's/IROC's. That car was the reason I bought my first 85 GLH Turbo and then 86 GLHS.

LG4's were anywhere from 145 to 165hp. They were never installed in an IROC-Z.

the 85 glh i built for my bud was built for road racing not the 1/4 2.2 ported head back cut valves 2bl header cam could hold off most 5.0l ho on the track

It would take a nice GLHT or some old skool Mopar for me to get rid of my GLH! Especially with the MP autocross springs Ive got on it, 1.25'' front sway bar, Addco 1'' rear bar, MP cam, sintered followers, MP valve springs, hooker header, NOS GLH muffler, and the list goes on.

I know most people just convert there Omni/Horizon to Turbo but I love my Carbd GLH! With no more than a header, exhaust, cam and a little head milling and you can be as fast as, or faster than a stock GLHT. With these mods my GLH never got a chance on the track, but on the street it could would stay side by side with my cuzs modded '98 R/T neon that ran 15.0s at 91mph!

nope, id go with 1/4 mile 11 seconds, from what ive read in the past, im pretty sure he was running a 300+hp N/A carbed motor!!!
