I know most people just convert there Omni/Horizon to Turbo but I love my Carbd GLH! With no more than a header, exhaust, cam and a little head milling and you can be as fast as, or faster than a stock GLHT. With these mods my GLH never got a chance on the track, but on the street it could would stay side by side with my cuzs modded '98 R/T neon that ran 15.0s at 91mph!

wow that sounds like a fun car, not one i'd get rid of too. get that puppy fixed.

Just curious how fast would a tbi 5speed stripped omni be with a decked ported head with back cut stock valves, cam, ported stock intake manifold, header, and exhaust be? If these carb'd cars were doing well would a tbi car be that much better?

I think TBI would be about the same. If you go mpi though, there'd be quite a difference.

hmm, i have a one piece intake and t2 fuel rail taking up space. do you think the tbi header would be a big restriction with a good exhaust on this setup opposed to a long tube? you ran the mpfi with what computer?

i batch fired the injectors using a stock 89 tbi /5sp ecm used the whole wiring harness headlamps to tail lamps from the 89 omnni i ran along tube header but when it crack i put a ported stocker in place for 2 weeks wasn't as bad as i thought i would be i think headman headers still makes a header for Lbodies just make sure you put a flex pipe on the colector that is how i cracked it i also heat wrap the header for end to end which help control the under hood temps

this is a very cool idea, when you say you batch fired do you mean you took the wiring for the single tbi injector and spliced it for the 4 mpfi injectors?

yes i made a jumper harness from the old tbi injector that to the new injectors wire them a series / parallel to get the ohms right ran it for 3 month no problems but i wanted to put a injector driver in place for racing was worried about overheating the ecm i think mitso 4 cyl used them
