Likely won't happen lol. There are a few main reason's

1)Insurance...
2)Wife
3)IF it was to break I won't to be the one who break's(just saying...)
4)It would/could end up a mess I don't want to go threw lol

And the last time I did let someone drive my car it was driven forward into a garage door, then gunned in reverse into a lifted 4x4 Dodge Ram... Our insurance covered it, but it was never the same after that.

Kinda cute - owns the car just a few days and he's gotten possessive!

Clayton, did I warn you the little blue car will get under your skin?

Are you still thinking turbo?

I've gotten a little protective of her or him, wish we could figure this one out Alex LOL

I don't recall, refresh my memory if you wouldn't mind lol it's been a long day so it may come to me

Not so much, I need to redo the timing again as I tried to install the ACS before I noticed the round tooth belt. It is a little rich now I havn't driven it sense Sunday and it's not something i'm liking...

I never really figured the gender. I always assumed female, but with racey blue paint.

When you get the timing sorted out, go ahead and try an extra space under the TBI. The under drive pulley would be a small help, but belts may prove difficult. You might haver to make a custom tensioner. The secret and the curse is the tall block.

If you know someone who can fab aluminum, and you can sort out an extra injector, I had a plan to make it a dual trottle body, which would allow gobs of air. The aluminum would be rather easy, the injector quetion would just need some electronics, possibly something as simnple as cutting the pulse signal.

Heres the plan. Take two TBI manifolds, cut off the #1 and #4 runners from each, and seal the holes. Now bolt them up to the four open ports. Rig up a slave linkage, and viola! Twin TBI. You'll just have to sort out the fuel, because the stock fuel pulese would now be double what the car should have.

We can talk more later.

The "half shaft mod"! I did this on my '04 Neon R/T. It helped with throttle response alot and was quick and easy to do, and free! Definately worth the time if you have a spare hour or so(start to finish).
Never have I done it, nor heard of it... Any easy way to explain it to me?

remove the tb , look down the thoat you will see that one side of the blade has sloted bolt heads and the other side has machined treads on the shaft , you want to take a pen mark the shaft at the bore walls remove screws holding the blade to the shaft , remove the shaft , now cut the BOLT SIDE OF THE SHAFT AWAY NOT THE THREADED SIDE , reasemable , now you have just upped the cfms not bad for just 30mins work also you can remove the air temp sensor and relocate it farther away from the tb were it wont get heat soaked will richen up fuel mix a notch

Ohh im going to have to give that a try.. I do like the idea of Twin TBIs Alex started talking about, but I don't think I know anyone that could pull off the work.

how would you have problems with the twins. Just find somebody that is getting rid of the twin weber carb manifold and just put the TBI's on it, I would be more worried about air delivery, since the fuel delivery is set.

twin tbi injectors would over fuel without the right cal , you would be suppling fuel for a 5.0l not 2.5 , better to to mpi 19# injectors batch fire or mex cal

yah, that is what I would say. Getting lighter injectors would probably be easier, but you would have to figure out how much fuel would be needed, since you couldn't just use injectors that supply 1/2 the fuel since they would run lean since you would be supplying more air, so you would have to figure out how much air is going in and how much fuel needs to be supplied

I've made my mind up on the MPI setup, not happening Not cause I don't like the idea, but with my karma it would be more down time then I could afford..

This is the plan for this weekend, first let me explain some things though lol...

88 TBI cam
89+ timing sprockets(round tooth)

From what i've read this is throwing the cam timing off also. My plans to fix this(if possible)

88 TBI
Adj Cam Sprocket(square tooth)
87 crankshaft sprocket
underdrive pulley

Basically get the square tooth sprockets on the 88 cam. Bring it from the future of FWD timing to a year prior using the 4bold crank sprocket instead of the 88 only 5bolt sprocket.

How does that sound to you guys?

wouldn't those be the same for either style belt? I didn't think the width of them changed, just the teeth? The engine has approx 20K on it so that wasn't going on the "better change it sense i'm here" list, it's still pretty new IMO lol.
