First off: Mods, feel free to place this where it should be if this is an inappropriate place. Not sure if this is where this goes, but I found some pictures of my Reliant stock car and thought I'd share them. It had a 2.5L
TBI motor originally, which was followed up by an unknown motor from a 87 station wagon.
The car made a gradual progression from one apperance to another, including almost being completely written off.
First day at the track with the car
I figured this picture was kind of neat, considering it's all Dodge.
Note the tilt I had to achieve through tire stagger in order to get the car to turn properly.
This was what was left after the 2nd biggest crash I've ever been in. Believe it or not, the car did get a new radiator put in and would have finished the night in 5th place if not for a blown tire on the last lap.
But if you think I had it bad, you should see the other guy.
It was fixable though. The hood is the only giveaway from the outside that anything even happened.
Then this happened. Twice.
The car, sans fenders and grill shell, now rests in a junkyard. I was to the point where I could have the engine in and out in under 4 hours, but was tired of rebuilding it. The first time the car went from pavement to sand at approx 5700 rpm and the revs spiked pretty quickly, throwing a rod. The 2nd time was my fault for not checking the bearings when I had the chance. The best part was that after it blew up the second time, I took the oil pan off to retrieve the inner bits, then drove it around the yard for about a week on three cylinders, no oil, and no coolant. The engine seized up once after running for about 45 minutes straight, but other than that, it was just a little rough :P
Just thought I'd share.
