Way back when I owned my GLH, with the HO n/a 2.2L engine, I had the original carb replaced with a similar Holley carb, but it had a mechanical secondary. One day I decided to mess around with the linkage so that the secondary barrel would open sooner. I used a paper clip, bent up so that it would pull the secondary open after about 1/8" inch after the primary opening. The result was fantastic, the car had incredible throttle response, and with the steep final drive (3.87:1), it would spin the tires when I stomped on it in 2nd gear. Cruising at a constant speed on the highway was a little difficult though. Anybody else try something like that with the 2.2L HO engine?

id like to.. ive about given up on finding a tbi omni.. so now im considering a carbed one. i was working on a tbi one for a while but the guy wouldnt sell it. the tbi one probly wouldnt have had any problem roasting the tires through first if the clutch wasnt weak.. i figure the carbs arent much if any slower.
