I put a turbo directly on a carbed motor, and being conservitive with timing I'm able to run 13psi with little problem (unless its hot out) even with the 9.5:1, of course its not staying that way, i just figured if i f'ed up i'd ruin a motor that doesn't mean too much to me, but its staying alive so i guess its all ok.

Its so easy to pull the head or the motor on these cars, the head takes like 30mins and the motor/trans takes like an hour and a half max.....

my website has a semi detail of what it took to convert it, its not techincal, just what i did.

That megasquirt system UnaLocker did is pretty nice. I've actually seen the car run and he gets 40 MPG. That would be the best way to go. Email me at jonescat70@hotmail.com and I'll send you his email.

I've also been thinking about doing the n/a mpfi thing. If you use the log manifold from your charger, you run into the problem of where to mount the throttle body. It would be a lot easier to go with the blow through style intake manifolds, which are a better design anyways.

Got like 12k miles on that '83 Shelby Charger I converted to MPFI with Megasquirt.. Not a single problem. I actually gave the car to a friend who drives it every single day, all over the place. I agree, you'd be shooting yourself in the foot trying to use a log intake.
