did all 1985 Omnis have 2.2s? were they all carburated(other than turbos of course)? how much hp and torque? what kind of numbers would they produce stock? plus headers, exhaust, pulleys, carb spacer, ram air?

No they did not. Some had a VW 1.7L and some had a Peugot (?!) 1.6L. The Peugot has the intake in front, the VW has it in back like the 2.2L. I've heard tales of great performance from the VW engines, but nothing about the "Piggot".

see the building an h.o. 2.2 for a recipe. also the 85 had about 93 or 96 h.p depending
on the style and induction type. the 1.6 made a whole 64 h.p (had one in an 84).
so gutless that you couldn't get it with air. lol no ram air but alot of hot air from the turbo.

Actually the 1.7 VW engine was gone by 83......in 85 it would have been the 2.2, 2.2HO, 2.2 Turbo I, or 1.6

the middle two being in the Shelby Charger and GLH, and yes I know in 85 only the TI was in the Shelby.....but we were talking Omni's weren't we?
