My car's got the good old reliable 2.5 tbi in it. It's been a good motor, but today especially, it's been lacking in the performance department. No, not performance, but driveability. I just want it to be more peppy while driving around town. I've got a couple of extra T1 log intakes laying around, and I'm wondering, would it be worth putting one of those on there and wiring it up for batch fire injection? I've heard of other people doing this, but would it be worth it for a T1 manifold?

Stock TBI electronics? That's a really bad idea.

Batchfire is when you fire all the injectors at the same time rather than sequentially. It would work something like the Bosch CIS system used on a lot of older German and Swedish cars......only done electronically rather than mechanically like CIS does it.

No, they have several extra sensors to determine which fuel your running. If you think Megasquirt (like 12-14 wires to hookup) is too complicated, you'd NEVER get a FFV install to work in a non FFV car.

You will NOT like the result from that. The TBI computer will have a sh!t fit trying to figure out what the heck is going on. It's a hack job at best. Very bad idea.

Well I've read up on some people who have done this before, and they have run different injectors and wired them up to have the same resistance in the end as the stock single tbi injector does. Then the signal that normally goes to fire the large single injector goes and fires off four smaller injectors. I would assume that all 4 of the injectors would have to be sized pretty small though? Why would the tbi computer have a problem with this?

You would have to get the smallest flowest injectors you could find, the log injectors should be ok when used with an AFPR. You have to make sure that whatever injectors you use, add up to the same as the TBI injector or you will fry the computer.
Theres nothing wrong with batch fire, OEM's used it for years, cheap way of firing fuel injectors. They went to sequential for better fuel economy and emission controls.

www.thedodgegarage.com has Gary rigging one up. Personally though, if your going to go to all that hassle, use the new 1 piece intake.
