My name is Chris, I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 3500. 160,000mi, auto 4X4.
I'm currently having problems with my truck with rough idle as soon as i crank it up to the time i'm pulling out of drive.
I have a rough idle at a cold start, as i have the same thing even after the truck has been warm. When i'm driving from 0-40mph i can feel the engine surge like it's not getting fuel, and when i come to a stop it starts to to bogg down like it's going to die then rev up and take off like a car at a drag strip.
I have changed the fuel filter and did not pinch the O-ring and have changed the filter, I have ran lucas injector clean through it but it still does the same thing.
I have read it could be the lift pump, could be the injection pump, could be injection problem. I took it to dodge and of course it has been doing this the past 2 days but when i went there it didn't do it.
Could anyone have any clues on this issue? I read to run and idle engine and and open the water drain on the fuel seperator, i'm going to try that tomorrow.
But before i take it back to dodge and they charge me again i hope it's something that i can fix or test my self before paying a huge bill
