ive been told running 7psi off a turbo on a stock tbi would melt a piston. and F/I is F/I, so how is a s/c any different?

but im up for hearing from someone who has done it as i would love to s/c the horizon for just a little more umph, nothing spectacular. i can deal with 130-140hp compared to the whopping 105 (est.) im seeing with my current setup, (k&n drop in, 2" exhaust)

I would say it is possible and I would say it is worth it.

But, being the TBI Fuel System which turns out to be the real bottleneck for performance on N/A 2.2 or 2.5 cars I am quite sure it won't be done without a) changing this over to MPI and thus running other electronics. This would be a real good case for a megasquirt conversion, in my opinion that is.

Yes, you could say, at the same time you could put on a turbo BUT then you could go out and buy a turbo car right away. A supercharged 2.2 or 2.5 based on a N/A Engine would make something unique.

I may be way off on this, I admit that I'm still new to the game. However, someone recommended a rising rate regulator on the return line. It's works for BMW's as their 318 has similar fueling problems yet they can be supercharged with a kit in a weekend. The fuel pump is an easy upgrade as you can swap in a turbo/v6 pump which would cause a TBI to run pig rich. However, I think the main problem would be the injector itself. I know it's been brought up, but how about using a 5.2L injector? I've never looked at the connectors but I would think most of them should be the same. The other option might be a cold start injector rigged up to a RPM, or pressure switch. I've noticed TBI's run a little rich down low anyway. Adding methanol injection probably would hurt either. After all it is another form of fuel. I hope my ideas make a little bit of sense.

I should have mentioned those ideas were for a "suck through" setup. Sorry.
