By saying a “direct fit” I assume you mean a bolt on kit. The B&M kit was the only blower kit made to be used on a 2.2 that I know of so I’ll assume you are referring to one of these kits.

The B&M kits are no longer available and are out of production. When they were being made, you could order them through Direct Connection (later to become Mopar performance) or out of the B&M catalog. Second hand kits still pop up on Ebay from time to time or you can sometimes find them for sale here.

When buying one of these old kits it is important that it be as complete as possible (it saves a lot of headaches later). If you plan on keeping your power steering make sure the kit you buy comes with the PS pulley adapter.

Some of the basic parts I’d look for in a used kit are: Blower (of course), pulleys – crank pulley, PS pump pulley, blower pulley, intake manifold, carb adapter, hardware (bolts etc.). The gaskets can be made easy enough. The supercharged valve cover that came with the kit is nice, but not necessarily needed. The belt tensioner that came with the kit doesn’t fit an L body correctly so it’s really not needed if you use a smaller belt or make up a better one. I eliminated the tensioner on mine by running smaller belt and tightened it with the PS pump.

Something to keep in mind too is the kit also came with a shim to lower the compression of a carbed engine. In order to run the blower you’ll either need to install a shim to lower your compression or install lower compression turbo pistons. That or you can run high octane fuel or go with a water injection setup in order to avoid detonation.

You’ll want a different carb than the stock one too. You’ll need one that flows more CFM’s. I used a Weber 38 DGES on mine. Another thing you’ll need is a hood scoop cause when using these blowers the carb and air cleaner sticks up high past the hood.

I should note too that I wouldn’t advise putting one of these blowers on a car that is your primary transportation (just my opinion). These kits even when complete take some tinkering and fabricating to get up and running. Other than that they are a blast to drive. I really like mine.

Good luck
Anthony
