In terms of coversion, your looking at about the same about of work for both.. you'll have to change your fuel system regardless of what you choose.. where you will save time, not money is with the install of a supercharger, of which if your lucky enough to find one [B&M] you'll just have to plumb it in ontop of the engine and not have to worry about attaining the proper exhaust manifolds and other connections exclusive to a turbo.. oil/ coolant etc.. as most superchargers are self lubricated.
In the case your not able to locate a B&M supercharger [made for the 2.2 carbs of the mid 80's] you'll have to source out the more common of superchargers and find an Eaton supercharger from various makes and models.. make sure you find one however that will best suit your power needs and engines displacement..
the third option and probably most expensive but easiest to install [as the other two are all on your own type set ups that will require a fair amount of fab work] would be to purchase a centrifugal charger from various vendors such as vortech, paxton etc.. keeping in mind that these units make their power in a linear power band. what that means is, the faster you rev your motor, the more air they push. Again in engish that translates into, these units make their most power at the end of your power band, whereas with a turbo or roots type units you can adjust them to make power where you need it most.
I would strongly suggest you do a lot of research and ask a lot of questions before you start to buy parts.. otherwise you'll end up fustrated and would have spent a fair amount of money and time on a project you could potentially loose interest in..

just a thought, but easier still.. try finding a G60 unit from a vw corrado .. they are self contained units.. might find it easier to work with.. keep in mind they can be expensive to repair and buy, and their reliability is not as solid as one would hope them to be.. but they do offer an alternative..
