Not sure on the year but it's in great shape and I can get it for free, and I rebuit 2.2 I can drop in. Is it possible, or should I just buy an Omni or Mini?

look for the turbo-diesel version of D50 or Mitsu equivalent = great MPG !!

you can just about put any engine into any vehicle. heck my dad put a buick engine into his 1952 ford way before the internet exsisted. I installed a 2.2 non turbo into a conquest, don't see why someone with fabrication skills couldn't put a turbo 2.2 into a D50. but then again for simplicity why not go conquest turbo setup, yea its inferior to the all might TD but it would be a lot easier to the simple mind

Because the Conquest fuel injection is TBI and is hard to make quick easy. That's why most Conquests/Starions that are really quick have 4G63T swapped in them. I would love to do a 2.2/2.5L swap into a D-50 or a Dakota. Hell my dream would be to do a swap into a '70 Dodge Colt!
