I realize this is 'turbo'dodge.com, but why isn't there a specific category for Shelby Dakota's?

I've seen some Dakota related topics under the RWD forum, but any interest in a specific Dakota forum?

Also does anyone else know of any good Dakota forums otherwise on the web, and is anyone out there significantly modifying Dakotas?

there has been some chat about the Shelby Dak under the Discussing Shelbys forum

used to be 2 good dakota Boards on the 'net but the better one of the two disappeared about a year ago

I have a ShelDak (stock), and have had a 91 & 93 2WD in the past - mods on those were limited to lowering & upgrading wheels&tires ; i have some more pix & details if you're interested

a guy in town here has a beautiful 94 2WD with a 440/727 stuffed in ; easy swap actually ; gorgeous truck and hauling low 13s at the strip

I have been wanting to build a hot 2.5 TII 2WD; lowered, sway bars, good rubber.. I think that should've been the Shelby Dak; not the wheezy 175 hp 318 automatic with crappy handling too (IMO)

Any idea what he's using for headers?

last year he was running factory cast iron manifolds (pass side had to be cut & re-welded for clearance altho allegedly there is a one-year wonder manifold that will fit stock) and his best e.t. was a 12.8

this year he installed Schumacher Creative Services Tri-Y headers (made by TTI perhaps ?) specially made for a B/RB swap into GenI/II Dakotas; not cheap but bolted right on and fit nice; he only made it to the strip once this year(2006) but header swap jumped him to a 12.25 @ 111 :big eyes: not bad for the factory 4 cylinder "small" rear end !!

There might have been a Shelby Dakota mailing list at some point, I seem to remember something along those lines and it petered out due to a lack of activity. There just aren't a lot of people really into the Shelby Dakotas and the fact that they are pre-magnum engines limits the mods you can do. In terms of Dakota forums, there is www.dakotausa.com, www.dodgeforums.com, and a 3rd site which makes you pay to use it at all so I've never used it.
