Hey Brian B., here's a couple of pictures I promised of the steering knuckles I thought I might as well post them. Somebody else might be interested.
My attempt at improving on the Ackerman steering geometry without welding on cast iron. These are the 89 big brake knuckles. My brother made the little end pieces that the tierod ends bolt into. I just welded them to the square steel bars. Then bolted the bars to the knuckle after cutting off the old arms.
After looking at these pictures maybe I will pull them off and slap some paint on

thanks larry, that seems simple enough to make. :)

i might either do that or see what i can find locally for cutting and rewelding. i wanna move mine in a little towards the strut too for more steering angle.

Venolia 8.5-1, 2.2, .030" over running low 20's boost.
I was detonation free leading up to my failure, wasnt
watching the knock reading at the moment (pulling a
LS1 Z-28 at the track!) but the plugs looked great and
there was no sign of detonation on mine as well.

Not sure if my bent crank (machined just months earlier)
was a biproduct of the failure or cause. with the #1
and #4 bearing in and the caps off it was very noticable
on a dial indicator, visible wear on one side of the cast
crank. Used a Forged crank on next motor with no
problems for yrs, new owner still beating on it we spea.

KClarryb, I don't think it was mentioned enough times on this thread, but that is an amazing piece of work. Good job fabricating everything. You must have countless hours of welding on that beast. I am suprised you put the interior back in. I thought for sure it was going to be a drag car. I can't believe how stock it looks. A 12 sec street car....amazing.

Hey Kclarryb, I like your method of fixing the ackerman problem better than mine, I took mine to a pro welder who used high nickel welding rods and rewelded the arms back onto the spindles, several years and passes on the track they are still seemingly solid, through I inspect them every season to be sure. Your set up you can even adjust to take care of bump steer. Nice work and you should be proud of your ride, it is very nicely detailed, I can't imagine the hours you have in designing and building all the custom parts to make your ride a true one of a kind! NICE JOB Mopar to ya

That's a very nice car. I'm very impressed. I don't know how I missed it this whole time. Keep it up! I can't wait to see some videos of this thing cranking some awsome 1/4 miles passes and hearing the jaws hit the bleachers when it pulls the front wheels 6" off the ground!!!

Hey Larry, care to share more details on the actual engine, like which TB and FMIC you used, also the longblock build?

Ford 4.6 SOHC throttlebody modified for the Chrysler TPS, no AIS motor.

2 core intercooler made with Ford supercharged Thunderbird intercoolers with 3" plumbing.

Long block: 89 2.5 CB,T2 rods with ARP bolts,Wiseco .030 pistons,97 2.0 DOHC Neon head with ARP studs and Fel-pro MLS head gasket,Geo Metro cam gears,Ford Taurus sparkplug wires,JGS log exhaust manifold,Holset HE351 turbo, and of course the oxygen bottle intake manifold,57lb injectors.

I spent approx. 1 hour grinding and sanding on the head nothing serious just a quick bowl cleanup (who knows I may have hurt the flow more than I helped)
Also picked up a set of the improved lifters and rockers out of a 2004 DOHC 2.4 (they were free so why not).
Also bumped the 2 oil drains in the head up to 3/4", used to have 1/2" in the front and 5/8" in the back.

What did this pile of mismatched parts get me besides a lot of fun putting them together?
I'm in the right lane on the timeslip and 25psi on the dyno.

Those are some very impressive results! You must have done something right to that head to get those numbers. They say that the stock srt4 heads flow the best, but you have proven that with very little work the 2.0 heads can make good power.Oh and the 2.0 heads have 2mm bigger exhaust valves. Btwy Mind if I copy your engine?

VERY nice results!! By the dyno chart that thing wants to keep pulling past 6K. I wonder what it would do if you let it spin a little more?
