Calibration only. My cam gears are not adjustable without pulling the locating pin and re-drilling. When I installed them on this engine I retarded the exhaust 4 deg. and advanced the intake 2 deg. I have no idea if that hurt or helped the power. Why do it then? I read in a post either on here or the Neon forums that 4deg retard on the exhaust and 2-4deg advance on the intake was a good place to start for the Neon engine.

I read that also, Kevin Davis on here messed around on the dyno and had similar settings, went to -2,-2 and picked up an honest 30whp on 2.0 cams.

Just curious, which bellhousing did you use? Also,I take that the supra trans is holding up nicely?

I have a 92 Daytona IROC R/T, yes it is a true IROC R/T. After about 2yrs,the head finally cracked like all the rest doo,so I decided to sell the top end and go crazy with the motor. I took the stock T3 block, bored .010 over, decked it and added stainless o-rings. JE forged pistons and GRP custom aluminum rods and fully balanced to 10,000(just to be safe). 8,000 is all I run her to.

The top end is a fully race prepped head with extensive porting and ALL the bells and whistles. There's way too much to list everything, but with a full stand-alone EMS and lots of tunning it is pushing 430HP at 18psi on 94octane.

Anyway, about 5 yrs ago the motor literally starting tearing the front of the car apart. Splitting the firewall in severall areas and breaking all the spotwelds in the unibody. Now I'm finally looking to get back to her with a rear wheel conversion with a IFS rear and full custom front end. I have my own fab shop so the problem is basically finding time, but the bellhousing is proving to be fun to find. Any help would be great. I haven't really looked too hard, but I was thinking along the lines of the Dakota bell.Worst case senario,I'll make one,but it's much easier bolting it together.

[quote=NRPCustoms;1211383]Just curious, which bellhousing did you use? Also,I take that the supra trans is holding up nicely?

1994-1995 Dodge Dakota 4cyl bellhousing.
I had one of the Supra transmissions get to where it was hard to shift into first gear. It acted just like the Chrysler FWD 5 speed transmissions with bad shift fork pads. If you read up on the Toyota R154 transmission the weak link is the 1st gear thrust bearing, mine was showing the symptoms of that problem but I haven't taken it apart to see what the actual problem is. Since I had 2 spares I just swapped it out. All three of my Supra transmission were bought at the junkyard with probably well over 100,000 miles on each one. So the one that went out was probably about shot when I put it in.

Sounds like you have the know how and the facilities to do it right, be sure and post some pictures when you get started.
