SMEC from an 89 with some programming changes. The lack of the speed distance sensor doesn't seem to be an issue...the dakota used one so that could be plugged in if needed. Using the ford 8.8 that has been narrowed with a four link. Should be back home next week. I will be getting some fresh pics then.

[quote=ProjectMorris]FYI

Everyone's known about the adapter plate for the 904 (727 would work too) to bolt to the 2.2/2.5. (Glen Smith's car -- the RWD Daytona). I know quite a few of us are using the Dakota 5-speeds to get hooked up on RWD platforms. An interesting post was made over on the Grassroots Motorsports list, and Greg Willams was gracious enough to share quite a bit of information that he has compiled for 5-speed options. The most interesting one is the '94-95 Dakota bellhousing mating to the '87-92 Toyota Supra Turbo tranny. That would give you a fairly bullet proof tranny . . . pretty cheap.

I never heard of this conversion kit?? Can someone Send me more info on this. I would have converted my Iroc R/T to RWD a long time ago!!! I do not care about the Manual trans stuff, as I want to race this, (Auto is what I am looking for) If anyone knows where to get the adapter plate and the rest of the goodies I would greatly appreciate it. Curious, without a speed/distance sensor, how would you get the spedometer, odometer and the trip odometer to work?

Curious to know, if there was any minor/major production changes from year to year in the supra turbo trans. You know, somthing similar to how the 89 internals for a 555 won't work in an 88/87 one or how the early 568's had the small spline setup. You know, things like that. Is there a particular year when the 87-92 Supra turbo trans was exceptionally stronger or weaker than its other production years?

So how about a Kit for an auto 727 or 904 trans to a 2.2??? If someone could just point a finger in a certain direction I'll start searching for it. I really want to do this!!!

I am not using any of the dodge factory gauges, or the triumph ones for that matter. I just got a set of VDO's to go in the brushed stainless dash I made. It includes a programmable 160mph speedo w/odometer. When I get the rear swap done I will calibrate it and that will be done.

[quote=Shel-Game]I didn't know the 904 adaptor plates were available. I know about Glen Smiths website, but it still says they are under development. Is there a newer website? I will need one of these for my 2.5 DOHC Turbo Dak Project (yes, you read that right).

Who is Glen Smith and does anybody have a link to his site? I have a 91 Toyota Supra turbo trans 5 speed but I really want to make it a RWD auto.

The guy that has been doing the work on the spitfire has done some amazing stuff. If I had the resources I would pursue an adapter plate for a 727. Maybe when things settle down I will set a 413 and a 727/904 side by side and see how it looks.

Found a 2.2 dakota at the yard today. Has a nv2500 in it. They charge 50 bucks for a tranny, but I could not guarantee the condition. I would be glad to pull it for someone if they are interested. I could also do a rebuild if needed. These are not easy or cheap to come by so reply quickly if interested.

Don't know if anyone's still interested or if this has been posted before, but here's a guy who put a T2 in a Spifire. Not much there but I found it sort of interesting. At least gives you an idea of what things look like all mounted up.

Thanks for the positive comments. Hence the post re: the nv2500. If anyone is still looking for a tranny this is the easiest way to go.
