How are you able to put the holes in the correct places?

My friend, whos been drag racing since the 70s had a plate made to mount a small block Ford to a GM Powerglide. On that plate he had a bushing made to find the crankshaft dead center. From there it was a matter of copying the Ford bellhousing bolt holes with a proper size index punch that would snugly fit in the holes of the Ford/GM adapter plate.
The second ring in the center of the pic will be cut out when were done to clear the crank seal housing. The flex plate will be the next tricky thing to do-a blank C4 flexplate would be the easiest, would have to drill 8 holes for the crank.

Just have a good converter guy hook you up with a C4 converter with 2.5 mounting pads and snout (very important that). Then use the 2.5 flexplate. You may still have some starter issues. Other option would be 2.3 Ford stuff...I'm sure you're already there in the thought process. But I am interested in the outcome. Should work slick once you get it "engineered".

Hey guys....new to rwd turbo dodges. Anyone know of a place or person I can pay to build me a custom intake and exhaust for a fwd 2.5 turbo in a dakota? I'm loving this turbo Dakota idea...sounds like the best so far, I've been doing research while in Iraq. Only a couple months to go, then hopefully I'll be home long enough to make this happen. Thanks in advance!!!!!

I am serious about doing this RWD Conversion on my 92 IROC R/T 2.2L TIII. I have compiled a parts list from throughout this thread. I want this thorough. Correct me on anything wrong.

92 Turbo Supra Trans (w/ Clutch Cable, Shifter, and Yoke)
AX15 Bellhousing from 3.9 L V6 Dakota (w/ Throwout Bearing, Slave Cylinder, and Fork)
AX15 Front Bearing Cover
21 Spline Clutch (from Toyota V6 Truck)
Stock Flywheel
Pilot Bushing w/ Adaptor
Custom Length Driveshaft
8.8 Posi Rear Differential w/ 2.88 Gears
OR LockRite/Detroit Locker RWD Differential
Custom Rear Axles
Custom Motor Mounts

Also, wouldn't you have to move alot of parts around the engine to accomodate turning the engine sideways instead of length-ways? What about the exhaust, would you have to reroute it from the downpipe all the way back to accomodate the driveshaft? Do you have to do anything with the Crankshaft?

Anything else I am forgetting please reply, also would love a source to find all the necessary parts. Thanks guys.

So exactly WHICH clutch disc would be needed?

Year/make/model or part number would sure help.

Toyota pick up 1978-93 2.4 22re non turbo

Earle, I haven't heard from you in quite a while good see your still working on the Triumph

How are you going to run the crank sensor? If you're going to run stock TIII electronics you have to have that...

Are you going to be running a Mopar Small Block or a 2.2? I ask because you say you have a 3.9L V6 bellhousing. They are not the same.

I don't know offhand what the rear track width of a Daytona is, but I do know that a rear end out of a 64 Dart is a damn near perfect fit for an Omni (going by width). I haven't even come close to bolting anything up yet, but on paper it looks good.
Best of luck to all trying this...
