so wide block mean I only can rebuilt engine with turbo part from DSM turbo and putt back in place on my tranny. But the original automatic tranny need mod to support high HP?

Someone know longitudinal tranny (manual or auto) fit on narrowblock??bolt on or without many modifications

suggestion??

the idea of a wide block 4 banger but not a v6 is amusing in it self lol. People pull the turbo 2.6 and add the 4g63 to the Conquest, there may be a cheap one out there. ok so right now i have a 2,6 auto and would add some hp, cheapest way find a 2.6 turbo from conquest and drop in, or find a 3.0 plus tranny 3.0

or find a 360 from durango or dkota and using bellhousing from dakota and some mod to have 300lbs and 300hp ;)

you can just drop in the Conquest turbo. However if you do get a MPI intake and buy Megasquirt. The old Mitsu computers are horrid and the engine has 2 injectors running a turbo with a TBI..... Single diget fault code list..... Needless to say it sucks lol. But there are nice parts out there like a new exhaust manifold that allows a T3 turbo.

I would also consider looking into the hard parts, may be easier to add turbo pistons and be done with what you have. A non lock up 904 converter like a 9" light weight unit and a shift kit would be in order. Converting it to non lock up would be on the list "if" it is lock up. Standard V8 type auto trans mods.



So Magna intake from Australia and the Treadstone T3 turbo manifold, then Megasquirt. That should be the basis of the build. The turbo is easy and other stuff. Cheaper? I don't know over the 3.0.

+1 to what Pope says: I vote for the 3.0 swap

cheaper definitely since all you need is a donor 3.0 truck .. lol

buy a rusted out truck (or Mitsu Pajero) for cheap, strip, then recycle the carcass..
or sell yur truck and buy a 3.0 truck

I suggest doing the swap in stages:
1. swap in a stock 3.0 and get it running properly and all bugs worked out

2. add CAI, exhaust, etc (basic 3.0 mods)
a good running, mildly modded 3.0 will feel like double the power of yur 2.6 ..

3. then adding a turbo and a standalone like MS will be straightforward,
and can get 200+ Hp with no internal mods..

was there a 3.0 RWD 5-speed ? cuz that would be the sh*t in a D50 ..

either way ,
if the auto trans is based off the 904/500 then it will easily handle the power of a turbo 2.6 or a turbo 3.0 ..

I'd do somthing a little different
I'd go looking for a 1970-71 318 with a 904 auto trans

70-71 because they made about 250 hp stock - 72 droped to around 140-150

now , I only know what I've been told or read about the little rams but as said before they share the dodge auto transmissions

important to note here ** all old school V8 dodge transmissions had the trans mount in the same location relitave to the back of the block - meaning the distance from the trans mount to the bell houseing surface on the back of the block remains the same regardless of what motor or trans your lookin at (applies to old V8 only)

that said , the V8 trans will fit to the orig mitsu trans mount location

I don't know for sure about the 88 but earlier versions are said to be a simple V8 drop in swap useing mostly factory parts to do it

same applies to the plymouth arrows - had a buddy in auto shop class way back when ,, he did a 318 arrow in a couple of weeks of workin on it - easy peasy swap

no real diff to the 340-360

a guy here built a mini monster truck outta one some time back - that had a 500+ big block in it - but I don't think there was much orig truck left

I considered building a high compression (by accident, thats just how it ends up) 4g64 dohc for my mitsu plymouth arrow pickup, and still think it's a good idea, but right now my mind is on v8s.

The dohc 4g64 should be a pretty straightforward build. I think the only thing that is a real hangup is the water outlet on the dohc head? Cant remember..

I would worry about the rear end and driveline and other parts with a 360. A 273-340 doesn't have the torque. A magnum 318, a 92 engine would be great with FI. Depends on a lot, you also have the weight issue. If you want some power and lower fuel use and V8 sound, which most want. Then consider a 273 with magnum heads.

What do you thinks abous use a 300 or charger V6 and swap engine, tranny, diff. ect...
