Some food for thought. I was just looking st some mitsu motor info. I noticed that the 2.5 used in the Sebring / Avenger / Breeze / Stratus is a variant of the 3.0. Do the intake manfolds interchange? What other intake manifolds would physically fit out 3.0?

I'm just reading here:

Diamante, sigma, montero.

The 2.0 sohc motors would probably work too but I doubt any are in the US.

I've been trying to look through the yahoo group on this stuff but there are so many posts it tedious. Are there any other bolt on cylinder heads or are we stuck with the stock ones? I'm picking up an '89 Spirit ES 3.0 this week and I'm just doing some research.

There are no real upgrade heads to the heads we have... while others will theoretically mount to the engine, in reality, there are many problems...

SOHC and DOHC 24V engines are both DIS as well as having a different timing setup...

I have no concerns with DIS or timing setup as I plan to run megasquirt. What heads physically bolt on and function mechanically?

Still don't think timing will work quite right... and water jackets are slightly different... if you're going to go through the trouble, swap in a dohc engine...

You guys need to remember the biggest problem is the accesories wont bolt up even if you use the whole dohc motor.

You cant run the dohc timing tensioner on the sohc block either so a headswap doesnt really work.......

Well I guess I'll be welding up a dual plenum intake with a pair of ~40mm tb's. As far as the heads go. Can they be ported much? I'm pretty sure I've seen some pics of Ondonti's heads ported. Did you lose much bottom end power?
