I remember reading somewhere that there were issues with uneven air distribution with when boosting a 3.0 with a stock plenum. Is there any truth to this? If so, does porting the plenum improve this problem or make it worse? Anyone ever tried welding a pair of aluminum tubes to each bank with a couple smaller TBs? I'm just tryinjg to think of a way of improving the intake without killing all the torque

I drew some pictures of a theoretical twin log intake. They are on the yahoo groups.

Wouldnt work with my setup because it would hit stuff.

The stock manifold does run lean in the rear 2 cylinders of the manifold So since my manifold is reversed, it runs leaner on cylinders 5 and 6.

Thats what Ive gathered from reading the plugs and from 5,6, and 4 being the first ringlands to blow when the fuel pump failed to supply fuel.

I found the picture I drew a year ago of a twin log intake.

How about taking our current intake, cutting 2 in half and then welding it together... this would give it a tb at each end... that would work as well as a twin log intake, imho...

would require a little modification... but nothing horibbly outrageous...

It's already been done by one member. But he hasn't posted real results of the modification.

hmmm, i just might try that but how well would that work with a supercharger, all the air would be clashing into itself.

How about a "Y" type manifold, where one throttle body branches out to 2 seperate runners, each one feeding one bank, instead of the current plenum which is a big box with holes around the edges?

But to not have too sharp an angle after the throttle body, the throttle body would have to be several inches further towards the drivers side of the car.

Or maybe one throttle body and its runner goes down the center like the water pump tube does, then 2 180 degree mandrel bends join together and come around to each bank.

that sounds like it would be good except that would be a lot of extra resistance in there, the air would have to turn around, butit would be better than the stock one where the air hits the top and then channels into the air duct.

That plennum with the 2 180 degree bend sounds like a torque based plenum to me... nice Loooooong path of intake. opposite of what i want to do though.. i myself am in the same boat as Ondonti i feel like when your supercharging the car you will have more low end grunt then you will EVER want for a street vehicle. oh and i dont wanna spend 200 bucks a tire every couple months for some good stickies.

It would be pretty easy to work both TB's if they are on the same side of the plenum.

I just know with my plenum reversed they wouldnt fit cause one TB would hit the alternator.......
