I have recently bought a 1992 Daytona 3.0l V6. Very curious on what modifications are readly, or possible avaible. Some might recall i had a 2.5l daytona, still do, but upgraded. Where do you start to get a little more emmpphh out of the motor, kinda without stripping the motor down.

P.S. Are the tranny's suppose to grind into third from 4th? And only 4th?... I don't think so, i may need help

Check out some of these sites:

And no, the transmission is not supposed to grind when going into 3rd from 4th. Others will know more than me, but it sounds like the syncros have worn out.

Welcome to the 3.0 community.

Put in a K&N oem or cone filter, find a 52mm throttle body from a 3.3L van, open up the exhaust with a 2.5" pipe, advance your timing a few degrees, get NGK plugs and 8mm wires and a better coil if you want. If you want ot get creative, port your intake plenum and get higher compression pistons or mill the head. There's a good amount of things you can do with your 3.0, it's a pretty solid motor with a lot of low end torque.

just do the cone filter. the k&n dropin wont do anything. THe problem is the convoluted intake routing. Get rid of it all and your car will be much easir to change the plugs and work on.

Yeah, the stock airbox and tubing take up a lot of valuable engine room, it's easier to work on things once it's gone. I routed my K&N cone under my engine to suck up colder air.
