How come MSD doesn't work on these cars? I mean the multiple spark discharge system.

the "universal" MSD 4,6, and 8 cyl multiple spark system. I forget the number. The red box unit. It doesn't work on chryslers. at least not mine.

those probably work, but the multiple spark discharge is what I'm talking about. Why doesn't it work?

I have put a MSD 6A model box in my car. I have just recently gone to the a junk yard and picked up a different boot to plug in the MSD ignition coil I bought. I have noticed a difference in how much throttle I don't have to use to go just as fast as before.

it's gotta be in the your head thinking you're making more hp, cause numerous people, including myself who actually thought everyone was wrong, installed it and said it does nothing.

Might have done something if the stock system was not healthy...

even talked to a chrysler tech. He says the same thing. They don't do anything for my 3.0. he doesn't know if it works on some, but he says he's never heard of a proved dyno that increased hp w/ a MSD 6al.

performance ignitions are mainly for boosted/high compression applications. they are useless other than that.

Just put it this way... When my brother worked for Payne Technologies they ONLY used aftermarket ignition moduals for Forced induction, Nitrous, Or fully build motors that arent used on the street... And it is true that Ignition doesnt make any more HP than stock. May benefeit the longevity of the plugs tho.

Well whatever, all I'm saying is that it did make a difference in my car, and im not worried about taking to some dyno and proving it. Plus I got the MSD box from my dad from his '69 Camaro Z/28 for free, so its not like its hurting me any.

the reason why you got more hp out of it is because your old coil was prollly getting a little tired...
