You mean the camshaft seal on the back bank? Shouldn't be necessary. They should come right out with a screwdriver to pry with. You'll need a socket of the right size to get the new ones back in with.

I meant the plugs on the rear of the cylinder heads on the ends of the camshafts.

ok,for future reference to anyone doing this. To get them out you will need to loosen the rocker shaft bolts starting in the outside bolts and work your way in to the center of the bracket, there are 8 bolts. Once you get them all loosened you can fit a screwdriver into the crack in it and then pry it out. I put some black rtv silicone(very liberal amount) on the new plugs and pushed them in until they bottomed out. Then torque the rockershaft bolts down to 15 ft/lbs then you install the valve cover with new gasket on it(i used some black silicone to hold it in place for installation) and new grommets and torque the bolts to 7 ft/lbs. Put your hoses back on and the plug wires and you are all set to go.

you are not supposed to push them all the way in. That is what causes them to leak usually.

well, if they weren't pushed all the way in then they would stick out a bit, the old ones did not leak and they were all the way in. I just changed the valve cover gaskets b/c those were leaking and decided that i might as well do it all.
