Bought some nice 1" diameter silicone hose (like you use for intercooler piping)
I welded a lip on the pipe that was welded to the pan and used pliars to make lips on the copper elbow. No clamp on the bottom of the evac so I could see if pressure was blowing the thing off. It STAYED ON! So I think most of the reason it came off before was the melty home depot hose and hitting a big bump in the car.

12.7@114 oooooops!
That was my best run on 14psi boost. Car picked up 28mph on the top end because I was shifting incredibly slow and did the same 1/8th traps as I did on 6, 8 and 10 psi boost.
I just checked the timing for the first time on this car. been meaning to do it forever just never did. Couldn't see the mark when I tried to do the timing.

Advanced the distributor about 3/16" and the light was visible at about minus 15 degrees.

I had originally cranked the distributor way advanced cause it ran better...though I worried about "all the timing" and detonation"

Edit. The crank pulley was on wrong because my crank dowel pin is missing. I have the car set at 20 degrees base timing right now. It doesn't want to idle on 12 degrees (stock) even when warm.

Not good. Its at 6psi right now and the traction is pretty dang good actually
The tires I have on the car apparently like clean roads and not 100 degree street temps.

Stealth RT/TT AWD vs SOHC 6g72 Duster- Video

Followed him out of a parking lot. Tried a roll and he thought he won after 30 feet (I wasnt in boost). He probably thought he was racing a 100crankhp 4 cylinder.

He tries to "ditch the slow car" at the onramp to show off to his girlfriend. I had to go 130 or so to catch up :P

I was running 14psi earlier but locked up the alky pump (alky pumps dont like gasoline and I had e85 in the pump).

So I had to run him on 6psi boost
At least it helps with traction!
I told bansheenut I wanted to keep the crappy street tires on but he wanted to put on his VHT soaked drag radials on "just in case."
Well I guess "just in case" happened.
I thought I would get hammered on launch but he didn't quite stop so he lost most of his advantage, though I don't think he could ever make up all those car lengths.

Had a horrible time making this video cause the camera takes 8000kb DVD video and that freaks out my computer. Had to lower the quality of the largest file at the end.

BTW, I found out that a friend used to live with this car's owner. Its BPU and doesn't have its 13g's installed yet (he already has the supporting mods).

------------------------------------------------

SR20vet Sentra vs 6g72 Duster- Video

I messed up the shift on the first run. The last two runs I brake boosted and the last one I was running 10 psi on the hit (boiled the brakes too).
I dont think there is any way he could keep up when I have 10psi on the hit

he kept increasing his boost but it didn't help cause I kept driving better.

We were tuned for 17psi boost on 12.1:1 fuel ratio but the fuel pump wiring seems to have crapped out on the way to the race and we had to turn the boost down. It was still lean!!! 14+ air fuel ratios!

He was so emasculated that he called his buddy to open the dyno shop cause he thought i was cheating and running more boost.

Remember these are with lack of fuel and cam gears advanced 4 degrees because I thought that would help my powerband until I can rev past 6200.

The dyno proved I was out of fuel!!!!!!
13psi pull
Look how power hurts when it leans out. I dont think the HP peak is real, but its because there is just no more fuel!

15psi OH DANG! Lost power!

These are corrected numbers so I dont take them seriously. I think I can do 384 real HP easy if I fix the fuel, take the cams back to stock, and rev over 7. All on super low boost.
The real number is only 332hp and 325hp. Stupid altitude.

I would like to build nicer tubular manifolds and fix the top runner size on my intake manifold but these numbers make me care a lot less about that at low boost.
2 valve heads for teh loss!

Put the front end back together after rebuilding the alky pump that hides behind the bumper. Reattached the Grill with a new method (that might not work...not much for it to attach to).

Used some ghetto air damns, one stock, one from a Jeep?
Attached it for fun. Not sure if it will stay attached at high speeds. I Overlapped them slightly. Ideally I would cover the front tires but I was just using free parts from the shed.

I actually had to use a torch on both air damns to melt them a bit to make them more straight. I guess there was a reason they were not attached to a vehicle.

Need to find the extra Spirit clear turn signals and wire up some Spirit light connectors. Ive done the wiring swap before but I dont remember if I fixed this more recent harness, and maybe if I did the connectors got fubared in their non service.

I think the first picture is pretty awesome. I decided to turn the flash off because I was liking what I saw through the viewfinder. Mostly awesome because of how unassuming yet scary it looks.

I am thinking about lowering the hood a little bit (my coil is currently blocking that and so are the T bolt clams possibly). I think there is more then enough "ram air" into the enginebay/airfilter.

I would probably just weld a piece of metal onto the edge of the hood. I have passed up replacement parts from the car because I dont want to spend money on things that still sorta function.

I would like the car to be a little more aerodynamically friendly so I am at least taking a step forward.

I found out what my passenger turn signal problem was, and the reason my car always had a turn signal light on one side dimly lit up (people complaining about this in my night videos :P ).

A sidemarker that I dont use had a smashed bulb in it! problem gone! signals work. flash faster etc etc etc!
When I pulled the bulb out it shocked my finger and I realized what was wrong lol.

Car now has front turn signals woot.

Anyone have any opinions on the stock rear wing? Does it have a function with better aerodynamics or is losing 12 pounds worth losing 12 pounds (especially from the rear end!)

I think its function is to hold down your flimsy hatch! Any less weight and that thing is bound to fly off!

This is an example of why traction and driving are important parts of going fast. See how the timeslips are very identical at the 1/8th.
The middle slip actually has the best 60'

You can see that my bad shifting = the same 1/8th mph every time. I am between gears during the 1/8th :(

The 14psi pass is behind the 10psi pass even at the 1000' mark, but then it tears past the last 300 feet gaining .150 on the 10psi run. Thats why going 7mph faster on the top end isn't as nice as a consistent 60' and a good 1-2 shift!
Even the 8psi pass keeps up with 14psi until the 1/8th.
