What do I start messing with to unground them?

Im guessing the problem is on the injector harness since I have swapped between 2 engine harnesses that both work on the spirit.

those injector harnesses are known to have problems. mine is toast and i have been looking for one too. did you pull the flex conduit off and see if any of the wires are exposed and touching ground or other wires?

I have an extra harness luckily.

Does anyone know why the coil lead would pull ground? I understand why the coil ground reads something but......why the lead?

Okay,

I tested at the injector harness plug and I read .33V on all 7 leads. (does this mean its nuked?)

For fun I played with the spirit injector harness and it read .05-.06v on every lead. (is this one going bad.....???) Im guessing it would run a little bit rich until it gets in closed loop mode and corrects. .05v might also not be enough to get the injectors going.

Grump grump grump.

OK, With the ignition on, I believe you should have 12 volts on one terminal of the injector harness. The other alternates between infinite impedance and near zero... With the ignition off, the impedance should be high. If it isn't, then there is a problem...

impendence?

english please.

I swaped harnesses, still voltage on the injectors. Actually, 2 of the 4 injectors I directly touched registed .10v on each electrode. They are both on the side of the motor where the engine was NOT fouling out though.

Oh, new information I just gathered.

On the spirits alternator, I read zero on the main lead, and only .04v on the small leads. This is when the injector harness is plugged in. i read zero when the harness is not plugged in.

On the Dusters alternator, I read .21v on the small keads and various voltages from the main lead. Ths is when the injector harness is plugged in, I read zero when the harness is unplugged.

.21v happens to be the same exact reading I get at the injectors with the new harness.

Anyways this phenomenon happens on both cars.......but apparently the injector harness on the spirit doesnt have problems and the one on the duster does.

It still bothers me that some of my injectors are reading .1V..........

Yuck.

Well was messing around with the injectors, and now the whole car lost power.

Even without the jumper cables on, I have 12v at the battery. The dome light will not come on. nothing will turn on with the ignition. The dash reads no voltage even though I have 12 at the battery.

It sounds like, you narrowed the break, down to somewhere in or connecting to the injector harness.

You in Salt Lake or Seattle? Going by Murphy's law, I'm guessing not Seattle.. Otherwise I'd just come over and solve this for you. Kirchoff's law is your friend.

Wiggle the connections to the battery. I bet you get power back. If so, clean the terminals really good, then smear vasoline on the posts, especially where they met the case...

Yeah Im retarded. I pulled the grounds off the car when trouble shooting with the multimeter.
THat is why it was not getting any power.

Just for kicks I am cleaning up both connectors on the injectors harnesses. They werew both full of grease/dirt.

Anyways I will check in the morning and see how they compare on the grounding volts.
