The sensor is FINE. NOTHING wrong with it. I have used both on my spirit last night. both have the same problem on the duster.
I agree, something in your wiring must be causing this problem, maybe a bad connection, or the pins are wired up in the wrong orientation.

The ECU supplies the 5 volts for the sensors...

It sounds to me like a flakey connection at the terminal....possibly inside the plug.

One other thing to consider is that the 5V reference from the computer is spliced a few times in the factory harness....it could be a failing splice getting overloaded by actually having to pass some amperage....just something to think about

This is wrong, I need to retest..........................

OKay, I just did some more testing.
The map sensor on the Duster seems fine.

I did some testing on the tps plug, comparing what I read on the 3 terminals on the spirit and the 3 on the duster.

I did other tests, but this was the most helpful

There is a power wire, a signal wire, and a signal ground wire.

From positive battery
On the spirit I read 6.8V on the power, 6.0 on the signal, and 11.98 on the signal ground
From Negative
On the spirit I read 5.00v on the power, 4.5 on the signal, and 0.0 on the signal ground

From postive battery
On the duster, I read 11.98 on the power, 6.0 on the signal, and 0.0 on the signal ground.
From Negative
On the duster, I read 0.0 on the power, 4.5 on the signal, and 0.0 on the signal ground.

both tests I had the TPS unplugged and the MAP plugged in. Ignition on.

I guess it would help if the FSM knew there was such a thing as a 3.0 in 1992 p bodies. I ahve to use AA body diagrams for the 3.0 stuff.

That's just weird as hell. Wire colors were standard between everything before 1990..

Brent, can we get you to make a video of you doing the voltage test?

Well From what I tested, Im assuming the white/violet wire that powers the MAP does not get spliced to the white/violet wire on the TPS. Since the Splice is a pain to get at, I am going to just add another splice in a better location to fix that problem.

Still gotta find out about the grounding wire.

If you have 5 volts at the TPS connector, then plug it in and get 0 volts, you may have an internally broken wire. Inside the insulation.

Fixing a wire that I broke the solder connection off of............Then i will mess with the white/violet wire again. I found the original splice. I dont have power there though because I busted a connection on one of my fusable link fixes.

Okay, to try to fix it, i am doing this.
Found the splice.........
After the splice (A6) I still have 5 volts on the white/violet wire leading to the TPS. Somewhere in the main harness that disapears......so I am going to just clip that wire where I still have 5v, and lead it directly to the TPS. Then I will just need to find out the grounding problem on the black/blue wire.

Found the grounding problem!!!!

The ground wire on the grey 18 (or whatever) pin connector which is black/blue does not have another wire on the engine bay harness side.......so it is not grounding to anything.

I havent finished fixing the ground wire.......but I did find it. For some reason it connects to the stater 19 pin connector instead of the engine bay harness. Im just about finished splicing a new ground for myself.

Then I am going to hotwire the violet/white wire from a point in the harness where it still gets 5v.
