Well it looks like I'm "ish out of luck if the above is true because I plan on boosting mine. Stay tuned for pics BTW, the exterior is getting a complete makeover including tint, rear louver, and blacked headlight covers to boot.

Pretty sure Una needs to shut up. I dont think brent is in need of your smart ass remarks at the moment. Turboing a 3.0 is possible its just apparently not that easy...at least thats what we can see from brents problems. Its always hard being the first to do something unique like he is doing. So seriously if you dont have an intelligent remark...then keep them to yourself because you're not helping.

My father always said - "Can't never did anything."
- Sail around the world, you can't do that.
- A carriage without a horse... that can't work. What's wrong with a horse? Stop wasting your time.
- Fly?!? People and machines can't fly. A vehicle with wings and a propeller is downright absurd.
- Walk on the moon? Yeah right. A vehicle containing a person can't get that far and the person inside couldn't survive it anyway.
...you know what? My father was right. The people that said things like the comments above never did anything. It's the people that say "I bet I can..." and "I wonder what would happen if I..." that actually take risks, innovate, and succeed. Does every crazy idea succeed? No, but without them we'd still be living in caves and doing a lot of grunting.
A 3.0, like just about any other engine, can be turboed. BUT, like any other n/a engine pushing aftermarket boost, a lot of little things can kill it. Brent decided to take on the world and do everything to his engine in one broad swoop. As a result, he introduced a lot of areas where trouble could creep in. He's had some very big, but very easy to do "oopses". That aside though, I've yet to see a technical reason why his car won't succeed.
One last comment and I'll step off my soap box. The most infuriating thing about projects like this is dealing with the nay-sayers and Monday morning quarterbacks. That is the one and only reason why I no longer publicize my own projects. This is the turbo 3.0 forum. Let's focus on what it takes to make a turbo 3.0 run and not on why we can't.

High achievers attribute success to internal factors (ability, tast difficulty), and failure to unstable factors (efford and luck) so therefore they keep trying because they know that with more effort it will work out.
Low achievers attribute success to external factors and attribute failure to internal factors (ability and task difficulty) Therefore they usually dont try anything because the only time they succeed it was nothing to do with their ability or effort.

93 Sundance is absolutely correct. People who have as much perserverance as Brent are the people who will figure out every little problem no matter how long it takes because he "wants" it. If you want something bad enough it can be had. Unlike most people on TD who will jerry-rig stuff, Brent goes about a project willing to take the time and put up with discouragement to get it done. Paving the road is not easy. We should all be greatful that Brent is doing what he is doing for us 3Liter people.

LMAO!!!!!!!!!
Una sounds like he tried to turbo a 3.0L and failed. Or is it just the fact that those who have turboed their 3.0L motors are less than forthcoming with thier information than what Brent is with his project? Either way, (and I know I'll probably go to hell for this) Una can go ride a long pole for his "contribution" to this thread!!!!!!!!
Even his signature states, "turbo makes everything better". Go, figure.

I just pretend una is being sarcastic about everything and then I like him.
I would rather share my failure because many of the other 3.0 pioneers have been very secretive and while that might protect you from scrutiny, in the end it will mean you get less help.
Scrutiny just makes me mad and more motivated. Has the opposite effect most douchebags would hope for. My competitiveness thrives on that.

hey, dont let the minority of nay-sayers deter you brent. thats gonna be one mean machine! i know the feeling, i had (and still have) people telling me i cant put an Eclipse v6 in a duster "you cant put that engine in a domestic!" "tranny wont bolt up, motor mounts are wrong". lol screw em, thats why we learn to fab things up, solve problems, innovate etc. thats why i succeded. you will to brent, just sometimes we all have to beat our heads against the wall a few times before we get it right. great edison quote when asked how he felt after failing over one thousand times to create the lightbulb, he replied "i just found over a thousand things that didnt work!"
btw, great job on the car regardless

I learned that about you a long time ago. Remember when we were pretty much getting laughed at in the 3.0L mailing list a few years ago? I am the same way Brent. When someone puts me down, I get mad and want to succeed.
You sure surprised me last year when you got the motor running with boost and made a 13 second pass at the track.

I appreciate that. In the future if I get another 3.0L vehicle, I can follow in your footsteps.
