Brent,

Just a thought. With the duration of those cams, you even for a test run it is probably gonna have some really funky A/F readings, and they will probably peg from one side of the scale to the other pretty hard. I bet you are going to have some serious idle issues as well. Will probably fluctuate like crazy.

This is assuming you are doing the test firing on the stock comp.

7:1 compression.

a/f was like 10.3:1 for the 10 seconds it started a few days ago and I datalogged.

I did turn up the idle screw because I figured it wont want to idle in the lower rpms.

All I can say is... Wow!

My guess now is that the cam timing is off. I think it must have jumped a couple teeth the first time when i was starting it. It actually ran that night but it abruptly died after 10 seconds when I found out that there was an oil galley plug that the machine shop forgot to install.

Cam timing was just fine.

I think my lash adjusters were filled with crap when I had the motor go on me, so they arent bleeding, and with the big cam thats bad. The car ran 1000+ miles with tons of bearing material in the oil. I instally the lash adjusters and they were stuck full.

Get it warmed up so the computer starts adjusting things based off of the O2 sensor.

Speaking from experience with speed density setups here...

I think superior 3.0's are ones that have closiing valves and get compression so they can start. probably something like yours, or the stocker in my spirit.

I did buy a 10 lb spool of welding wire on monday so I can work on my intake manifold when I get time.

Me too. I want to work on it right now but I decided I need to study for my test and write a paper instead

ooff...yeah...I hate that! It's SO distracting to me whne I have a project outside that's bothering me and I can't work on it. That's why I'm trying to get one major one done before the semester starts in fall...

I just did very well on a test (unlike my test earlier this week) so I have some motivation and time to work on the car.

I always feel really guilty working on the car when I have school stuff looming ahead. I had incredible temptation last night to work on the car. Im glad I didnt give in :P

Well the car has an electrical problem all of a sudden that it didnt have before.

The fusable link to the ECU blows out now. I replaced it with a blade fuse setup but.........it is still burning out. Friday morning I didnt have this problem. Now I dont have fuel pump or ECU.

Worked the electrical problems out. Then tried starting her.....

Looks like the lifters are overshimmed. They should not be overshimmed but I think since they are flat and the place where they sit is concave, they are adding a little extra thickness. Now I gotta take her apart again.
