crap I have a new injector short that happened overnight. drove the car yesterday. Today #4 and #6 are flooding the same way 1 and 3 were flooding before. So far finding the possible short has not proved as easy.
Im taking the car apart to remove the transmission so Im not really sure how much I will get done on tracking down this stupid bugger.

I dont really know any good ways to test where the short is (or to prove there is a short).

Gotta love this heat wave we're having, eh?

That's why I haven't touched anything but this damn A/C belt on my van.

By the way.... Good luck with that test.

if you have and ohm meter, you can check for a short to ground by putting one lead on the wire and one lead on a known good ground and see if you have continuity. if you do, then trace the wire to the short.

um
I dont really understand.
The fuel injector wires dont have power fed to them unless someone is cranking so its not so easy..........

you can try jumping the ASD relay for your troubleshooting needs.

In a continuity test, the meter itself provides current to the circuit which must be isolated.

easy- just turn the vom to the continuity test setting- you can just touch the 2 testing leads/probes together and then you hear a beep if the ohms are less than 300omhs. So if you test something it will beep if you have continuity.

edit- there are also "noid" lights you plug the light where the injector goes and it lights up when it gets power.
never had a need for them but hey seem handy to have.

well unfortunately that test didnt find anything useful.
Read like 30 ohms between each injector feed wire (and 15.6 between each injector and the ground).
