Haha, well I know that it died because I didnt have the distributor nut tightened and it retarded the base timing in those 2 seconds till it died.

I just finished swapping back in 2 shims on each lifter and I will see tomorrow after class (6:30 PM) if she will run with those 2 shims.

Im pretty pissed off but the moment it started even for 2 seconds (it started up instantly also) made it allll worth it. Now I have more motivation.

My hope is to get it running thursday night. Seat the rings. Change oil. Then put miles on it. Change oil. Then race it with no turbo friday night at the track. Hoping for a 15 (high elevation......my 14.8 second spirit ran 15.8-16.0 here depending on the atmosphere on my old blow bye motor). This car is 2 compression points lower, 500-600# lighter, .15L more displacement, and sexy heads+huge cams. For all I know it could be slower.

Great job on everything youve done so far. Good luck with it. What are you using for engine management?

Dial the base pressure down.

The duration on the new cams might not be giving you enough vaccum to pull the pressure down to a decent level.

Just a thought..

Well I dropped the pressure way down yesterday. doesnt seem to fix the flooding problem. Maybe I can go lower but......I cant realy even tell what my base pressure is because you cant read it without the engine running. Since I will not be in o2 feedback, I can see that the base pressure needs to be correct of the computer wont be able to run.

What is strange is that it wont start when I have the injectors plugged in. It wiill just blip and then flood (wont want to start again). Unplug the injectors and turn it over. The motor will start for like 2 seconds until the fuel puddles run out.

Also when it starts to run it wont respond to the throttle at all. I was getting a TPS code yesterday, but I swapped TB and the TPS was functional when i tried it on my spirit.

I have a stock plenum and 46mm TB on the car right now. Hasnt helped.

I am realy pissed off and not sure what to do.

put the stock cams in it. You've added many untested parts. One or two of them might be your cause. Put back the stock injectors and run stock fuel pressure. Break in the motor, if it starts, that way. Then start adding your "modifications" one at a time. Maybe this type of troubleshooting might help you find out what the heck is going on.

Yeah. the stock fuel parts are my next thing to mess with.

I think the cam needs to go also.

It also has a wiring problem.........

Worst is that in 1992 the FSM thinks there is no such thing as a 3.0 P body.

I hate wiring problems..the thing is that these cars are getting to the point where it is common occurance. I agree to get it back to stock and go from there, but I think your true issue lies in the wiring. It sounds almost like the injector harness is grounding iteslf out causing the injectors to open up 100% intead of pulse from computer commands. We know it's a fuel problem because #1 it has spark(it does run), and #2 it isn't compression because it does start and run(remember you only need three things for an engine to run fuel, spark, and compression). It could be that something having to do with the commands for the engine to run are messed up too. You need a diagnostic tool that will show what the computer is seeing though to deterine that.....

no diagnostic tool here.

the injectors grounding out does sound like something that would cause what is happening.

Even with crazy low FP the engine isntantly floods out. I also know there is a grounding issue with the harness but I dont know what to do about it.
