Looking at the instructions they dont seem to invade into the downpipe very much.
If I used two I would put one downwind so they dont block up the same spot on the downpipe

OK. I'd suggest spacing them about 6-10" apart. This will allow the turbulence from the first one to settle down before it gets to the second one. IIRC from my fluids class it will take something like 10 diameters(possibly more) of the object for the flow to go back to being fully propogated and laminar. I'm not an expert, but this is what I remember(plus I'm tired). If somebody else has some better info, please step in...

Yeah...that sounds about right. I've only seen those kits in person a few times, and only delt with one once. The diameter sounds about right...so yeah...  LOL. Man, I'm tired!!

Considering the size of the pipe and 1 way check valve, I don think I am going to use two of them. the vents on our valve covers are too tiny.
I dont think the breathers in the top of the picture would fit on our valve covers because there is only about 1 centimeter of space between the baffel and the valve cover (or less).
So i will try one and if I did another i would need to have larger vents on the valve covers. The back vent is larger then the front at least.

I would say throw "Stock" out the window at this point! LOL. Do you have another set of VC's? The reason I ask is becuase I would say screw the stock baffling and such and make those things work propperly.
OR...you could just drill the propper size hole in the VC and then weld/epoxy/something a nipple on to them...and you could possibly not have to go through the baffle doing that!

I have an extra set in the shed i just cleaned out. The front cover is the old style PCV setup for some reason.
Im just thinking in the short term I will first do whats easy because I have a lot on my plate for the stupid car. Extra valve covers obviously serve little purpose not being used though

Well...having the extra ones is a bonus becuase you can mod them the way they need to be so they work effectively and aren't a hack job. Plus you can still drive the car around while you do it!  I LOVE extra parts!!(I mean car parts!!)

Ondonti,
You need a 1.25" hole in the valve cover for the breathers. The grommets will hold up better if you cut the holes undersize & form a smooth edge,using a socket etc.
You might be able to use only one probe in the exhaust with a "Y" to the breathers.

3.0 valve covers have a nice baffle already located under the top to keep oil out of the pcv and vent systems. its too close to do a standard install of those breathers. All those breathers are...are oil seperators. Just a metal can with Stainless steel washcloths inside :P
Since you locate them on the valve cover they drain back into the crankcase instead of being collected in a catch can to be thrown away (like most turbo people do).

nipples first, major surgery later.
The turbo shop said the problem with the oil I found in my turbo's turbine housing is too much pressure in the turbocharger cartridge so its blowing oil out the good seals. Which is either because of a bad drain (which I dont think so) or because of pressure getting into the turbo (possible I guess).
The drain is a simple gravity feed through a 5/8" silicone hose. I might go inspect the drain but I dont really want to :P
Seems like there would have to be a lot of blowbye for the turbo to get pressurized like the shop is saying though.
I had the same drain and pan on my spirit and it didn't spit any oil out of the KKK turbocharger. They said my t67 doesn't need a rebuilt so the problem is pressure in the turbo center section.
I jsut dont think the 90 deg 1/2" pipe fitting that is welded to the pan is a problem....and Its installed higher then the oil line so I am a big baffled.

what was your oil pressure like?
I hope you get the evac working, I have a kit but haven't tried it yet because many said it just didn't work while others said it worked well. So I will be looking for feedback on if it works or not.

This is kind of an obvious question, but: the oil drainback in the pan isn't aligned with a rod or counterweight is it? The only other thing is to try and get it on the "down" side of the rotation of the crank...that way it isn't trying to throw oil up in to the hole. I know that ins't as big a deal, but it *can* happen....
