I was using a mic to measure the inner diameter of the felpro head gasket from my set, curious to see just how it compared to the stock bore. The stock bore is 3.587in. The felpro gasket is 3.722in, and w/ my calc, the overbore should be 3.687in. So is "100" overbore .100, or .0100? Someone clarify this because I've been hearing all different things and my original plan for this bore was to use the stock gasket w/ copper sealer spray on the gasket.

ok, I just thought real hard and verified to myself that "100" overbore would be infact .100. Duh, tenths, hundredths, thousandths, etc. So 100 overbore is 100 thousandths which is 1/10th of an inch.

but will the stock HG still be enough clearance for the bore? I would imagine right? The dealer wants way too much for their HG. Like triple what the felpro is in price.

MItsubishi or Cometic has the proper HG for that kind of overbore.

he's using the MLS cometic, but he's having a leaking problem as well. I'm trying to stay away from MLS gaskets if possible.

the "stock" gasket is smaller then the piston. I didnt know a felpro stocker was different.

I have the measurements here. Dale from Venolia told me brents pistons were bored for 3.683in. The stock felbro inner diameter measures 3.722in. That should be enough for my bore, right?

I guess. That pisses me off since I wasnt aware of that. The stockers I have which are not felpro dont work.

BTW, Im pretty sure I donthave an oil leak at the end of the heads. Since oil pressure is built in the heads from a tiny port in the middle of the heads.....the other oil passages are drains and there should be very little pressure there.

Well, I'm going to keep these stock felpros and see how it lines up on the block when I get it back reassembled w/ my pistons and such. If it clears safely, I am copper spraying them and putting my ported/cammed heads on it and dropping it in the car. I should have it fully assembled in under two days of having the block back. Hell, I have everything I need ready to go. (oil pump, cam/crank seal, rear main seal, upper and lower gasket set, etc. I just want the damn block back to I can drop the motor in already.
