bump the timing is the easiest. Mine is @ 17 degrees, but most do 15 advance. You only need a 13mmwrench and 15 minutes. Don't forget to let it warm up, then to disconnect the coolant sensor, not the sender.

Porting the intake plenum is almost free. Then there's some other stuff that's real cheap. Like a swap to a 52mm Throttle body from the wreckers. Hooking a vacuum line from your dizzy cap to your PCV nipple on the intake for ozone boost. Then there's some stuff you can get creative with and do for 1/10 the cost of bought parts if you've got access to some tools. Like make yourself a crank scraper, or intake plenum spacers. Then if you're due for a change of spark plugs anyway, you can try things like Mike's magic sparkplug mod....

Getting rid of the stock airbox should be priority #1.

If you just put a cone filter directly on the TB that will almost get you to where a cai can get you on a cold day.

Ditto w/ Brent on the cone. Also, more info on the "ozone boost" thing please. I wanna try that one. How does one hook it up to the PCV system? Why does it work?

dunno about the ozone mod, sounds like you keep the cap under vacuum, and it keeps ozone from building up which i dunno if it allows better spark at high temp?

A lot of engines come with scrapers from the factory now, and that says a lot.
