this was a Rippmods setup.

The sohc mitsu 3000gt was build with nice headers. Stock heads/intake/cam. 242whp on 5 psi. The same Rippmods setup made 296whp on 5 psi boost but I think that dohc motor had some headwork or something. Not sure.

I dont like the rippmods stuff because its really expensive and doesnt even fit the 3000gt's without a LOT of changes. Rippmods did a horrible job fabbing up the kits and they have and quality problems with the fuel injectors they provide.

Those 2 running cars took lots of time and money by the owner to actually get working right after rippmods screwups. Dont build a kit without having a car to testfit it on lol.

Check that out. They claim a 3.0 w/ a T04e on 10 psi will achieve 400hp.

I think you are reading the chart wrong...

Reading it your way, it also claims a 1.5L engine at 10psi can reach 400hp... So why are bothering with all those extra cylinders?

The cylinder heads flow must be there to reach those hp numbers...

I think the simplest problem is that the to4e 60 trim isnt going to make 400hp at 10 psi on a 3.0L motor.

That chart is useful for knowing the smallest turbo you can get away with and still make efficient HP/boost.

Person who wrote those assumptions screwed up bad.

400hp and 10 psi would require peak power near 7000 rpms.

Im not really sure how happy we can be spinning beyond 7000. I would like to pretend everything is fine up there :P

You can check the compressor maps on their website. It looks good for around 7000rpms.

The question is, what are going to do to make the Chrysler 3L V6 really perform at 7K RPM. Stock, the hp curve is dropping off well before 7K. Putting nearly stock heads on a block that has been stroked will likely pull the peak hp rpm point down...

If you doubt, compare the 2.2L and 2.5L... Hp is only up SLIGHTLY.

ok, what should I expect then from a GT35R in a .57 or .63 trim?

My spreadsheets don't have those trim wheels in it. It does have a GT35R with a 56 trim wheel and a .70 A/R.

Looks like it would work pretty well. Though it does estimate ~18.5 psi to hit reach 400 crank hp. Though that may be a little optimistic since I just bumped up the displacement and didn't adjust the volumetric efficiency (down)... So to reach that, you will likely need to port the cylinder heads...

they have been ported. Mildly, but they have. Maybe while they're off, I'll have more work done to them. Anybody make oversized valves and a price.

Just look at the dynographs of those who have them for the 3.0L motors. The torque starts dropping off at 4500. And it's not an easy drop-off. It damn near plummets. That's why our motors make max power near 5k, and don't seem to acclerate past there.

Get a custom set of cams, wich will allow better flow in the upper rpms, and alot of head work; then you may be able to use rpms over 6000 to your advantage. Until the day that these parts are added to your motor, you're stuck with the 5500rpm or less power curves of our motors. That's why it just doesn't make sense to ever need to hit the rev limiter of our motors.

I don't have the 45, but the GT40-82mm, 50 trim should work very nicely...
