If my goal is 400hp, or no more than 10PSI, what is suggested? If I supercharge, I think it will be a little easier to fabricate a plenum. I will still be getting a standalone, but turbo would yield more power. Any input would be great. Thanks.

Turbo, SC will cost you some power to make power. Turbo is free power, Wow, 400whp at 10 psi, what turbo are you going to run? a Mack truck?

um........sc aint gotta do it for 400hp......
maybe 300 on 10 psi if you had a really good setup. 240whp on 5 psi with a supercharger has laid on a 12v sohc dyno run before. Good setup though.

well this isn't just a "slap turbo/sc" on a stock motor job. I've had decent head work done, .100 over, custom exhaust manifolds to come, and I'm investing in a standalone before the install. I figure around 200-210 NA w/ these mods and good tuning. CR is going to remain @ 9:1 before boost. Yes, the turbo is going to be large. Not quite as large as brent's current monster, but close. I believe that 10psi is capable of getting me my goal, but as stated before, a good setup. A damn good setup. I want to run 12's possibly high 11's. when all is said and done. Will be cryo-treating a 543 w. 586 large spline guts, diff pins, and solid motor mounts all around. I have my solid strut mount, and my solid front mount. When everything is out, I'll get the other two or fill them with metal filler, or window-weld. I figure w/ a decent launch and even 350hp, I might be able to make that goal if I'm lucky.

Unless you're spinning that motor over 8000 rpms. I really don't think you'll make anything close to those goals. Even at 15 psi of boost, you won't be making that kind of horsepower. Maybe 350hp is attainable. But that's going to be stretching it just a hair.

Well, I guess because few people have successfully made a GOOD setup, we really won't know until I get it broke in and dyno'd. Have about a year for that though. Maybe someone will beat me to that goal on a streetable car.

remember, I won't just be a 3.0 anymore. I have a little more displacement to work with. Granted it's just over a tenth of a liter, but we'll see how it responds under the circumstances.

honestly, I couldn't tell you. All intake and exhaust ports have been gasket matched, the valves have been back cut, and a custom Crower cam has been installed on each head. As well, bronze valve guides for reliabiliy. The cams were mild, as well as the porting. The head was milled .029, and the compression chamber CC's slightly. We were looking for oversized valves at the time of machining, but had no luck.
