ok, i was kicking around the idea of putting an M90 S/C on my 24v 3.0. I was wondering if anyone had some thoughts etc or if they had used the M90 before. i was thinking that with F/I i can use the 1000 more rpms i can eke out of the bottom end. (24v head runs out of steam N/A around 5500 +- 100, redline stock 6500)
i will probably have to limit myself to about 8PSI to begin with, since the 9:1 cr and not so tight quench area on the pistons are prone to detonation above 8PSI. it MAY be possible to run more than 8 psi, but thats a 50/50 shot. some people in the 3g world blew up at 9 psi, and i know of one that is running 15+ psi on stock internals so *shrugs*
RIPP has a centrifugal S/C that claims ~300WHP at 8psi, but i cant afford their super base (no injectors or computer) kit is $2500, and a junkyard M90 can be found for ~$200 . since i already have a MS computer, all im missing for FI so the SC...... so any input/advice or practical observations would be most appreciative
