i got the alt. working last night. turns out you cant cut the green/orange wire for the coil because its the same wire for the voltage regulator in the ecu.

my req. fuel is 8.4
prime pulse width 2.0
cold pw 7.0
hot pw 2.5

these numbers still need played w/.

ECS - i knew he had the M90, i was wondering if he was doing initial idle tunint etc in N/A form

M90Daytona - so without the stock coil the voltage regulator wont work? hmmm, i have my alt hooked up but dont know if its charging at all. think this means we need to get an external voltage regulator?

you can cut the wire AT the coil, but dont cut it at the relay box because it feeds the coil, fuel injectors and alternator. the coil does not have to be hooked up in order for the alt. to work. i have actually retained everything from the factory except for my a.c. all of my gausges including tach are working and my voltage regulator in the ecu is also working now too.

well i wanted to drive the car today w/ the charger hooked up but the bov does not blow off at idle. i have the bov vacuum hose hooked up to the intake manifold but it only blows off after i rev it. does anyone know what kind of bov i need? i need it to let out excess air whenever the throttle plate is closed. thanks.

i thought that the BOV was designed to vent the excess pressure on sudden throttle releases and over all pressure regulation...

and on the note of the alternater, 90% of my factory harness is there, i just unplugged the coil, i didnt cut the wiring. so i should be ok then?

mine is only venting after i rev it. then it closes and stays closed while my pipes start to pressurize and then blow apart. its worse when i start it cold because then its idling at like 2k and the throttle plate is clsoed and it builds up massive pressure in the intake tubing.

My guess is that it doesn't want to vent at a low psi that is in the tubing at idle. To adjust this there should be a adjustment screw or washers to add/remove from the spring, unless HKS is totally different.

i think its a 99 maxima? 4th gen. Fun car. Makes 300+ at the wheels with 10psi non intercooled.

I just talked to him, he says your HKS (ssqv?) is not compatible with your kind of supercharger setup. You need to get one that will work with a supecharger and can vent like you want it too.

glenmoormax says (9:19 PM):
yeah, the BEST BOV for SC's is a vortech race or vortech mondo

glenmoormax says (9:20 PM):
they have adjusters so you can loosen or tighten them based on your setup, i think i figured mine out and thats why it wasn't leaking anymore
