I think we are interested in part numbers for resistors you use, how you wired them in etc, pictures + suggestions on the wiring & relays. Things like that.

Way more then you would ever want to actually do :P

yeah its working perfectly. i havent lost my tach signal yet at all and ms is using it to time fuel and ignition. actually, the only thing i had to do to get it to work was splice into one of the wires. i left the stock ecu wiring hooked up to it to provide power and ground. then i spliced into the signal wire (cant remember the color right now). i then installed a 480ohm resistor inline w/ the signal wire going to ms so that my factory tach would still work.

the resistor can be picked up in a 10 pack for 99cents at any local radio shack. just get the ones w/ the resistance value of 480ohm. pics and tips coming soon.

These might be very helpful for some people. I'll gladly break down where each wire going to the original ECU should go to on MS. The only part I'm not sure about is the Dist wiring for a tach signal. We should do some kind opf spreadsheet with all the factory ECU pin numbers and wire colors and match them to what pins on the MS connector.

Those links above are supposed to be all the engine wiring diagrams for an '89 Spirit 3.0. Those links worked last night before I went to bed. What I was trying to do what show what wires from the Factory ECU harness can be extended and connected right to MS. Many of the factory underhood wiring and be left intact and the wires just extended from the Factory ECU location through a grommet in the firewall and under the dash to where MS can be mounted. A diagram like this would make things much simpler to understand.

The transmission (A604) I have yet to really look into but I doubt the factory TCM would play nice with MS.

I'm going to assume you've used the gray wire from the dist for a tach signal to MS correct?

Looking from these wiring diagrams...

Dark Blue - yellow pin 51 can be connected to the fuel pump output of MS pin 35
Black - Gray pin 19 can be connected to the coil output of MS pin 24
Violet - White pin 6 can be connected to the 5vref pin on MS pin 26
Orange - Dark Blue pin 22 can be connected to the TPS signal pin on MS pin 22
A GM 3 bar map sensor can be plugged into the original map sensor connector and mounted in the factory location. For this to work: Dark Greed - Red pin 1 needs to be wired into MS to the MAP signal pin
Tan pin 2 can be connected to the coolant sensor pin on MS pin 21
Black - Dark Green pin 41 can be connected to the O2 signal pin on MS pin 23
New wiring will have to be run on the negative side of the fuel injectors as the factory ECU seperates them into 3 groups and MS can only run two groups.
IAC wiring will need to be added
M90Daytona will have to step in and tell us how he wired up the Dist pickup and the Idle stepper motor

the ccd bus is what the different modules use to communicate with each other.

What sort of information is communicated? Is this something like a CAN bus?

M90daytona, what size injectors are you using? 440s or stock currently?
