I took this picture to educate a supercharger retarded person who was arguing with me on another site.
I thought I would share this since I had talked about it before.
Obviously the m90 is not a 100lb/hr supercharger but you can see here how superchargers work and what happens when you increase blower speed etc. This is how a Roots map should look but I think companies hide this information (nobody knows why just like nobody knows why a T67 turbo compressor map is secret).
If this was a screwcharger imagine the center efficiency island being 85% or higher and the HP losses being 1/4 what they are on that chart.
So that means a 1000hp screwcharged motor would lose 15hp driving the supercharger, be more efficient (this term confused the person who i was talking about because they think the term efficiency when talking about superchargers/turbos is a combination of things rather then 1 specific measurement of heat added lol).........and have a powerband from near idle to redline!!!
The crappy thing about screwchargers is they are very expensive, and upgrading (rather then just overdriving it....you can see what overdriving does to superchargers in the chart) will cost you $5-15K depending on your setup. Also you might not be able to handle the insane torque (or your transmission might not be able to).
