No way known to do it easily. Rebuild with a shift kit and tolerances to the tight end of the scale.

lol, wish things were that easy w/ a chrysler. Surprised he got away w/ that on it's mitsu. Probably not the best thing though.
I would shun the idea of cutting wires cause you'll probably cause more problems than you think.
I would rate the A-604 as the most TEMPERMENTAL transmissions of any make and model, so care should be taken when doing anything as simple as filling the fluid.

It's not half engaging two gears? What do you mean?

It sounds like you might want a shift kit, as others have mentioned.

Also, the 604 is a good transmission as long as you dont do anything dumb or stupid such as: putting the wrong fluid in, not noticing leaks, neutral bombing it, redlining it then letting off the gas immediately, doing too many burnouts, etc. I'm going to go as far to say that the 604 was one of the best transmissions of it's time (as long as it was taken care of properly).

some where i read that there is a shift mod on the 4spd where you cut a wire and put a switch in it allowing it to switch in between factory and performance. some thing like torque reduction? any one know of what im talking about. i seen it on a cloud car. web site.

A shift kit was just released to cure alot of the problems, like the slide bump and the mushyness felt. I have heard they work well.
