How did you check the vacuum? I assume you have an A/F gauge telling that it's rich at idle? You might want to try swapping the MAP sensor out, see if that makes any difference. Could be running rich all the time, but you only notice it at idle, because it's not running fast or getting as much air.

already swapped MAPs. I know it's rich because it smells PIG rich. Used a gauge and when the engine was running hooked it up to a vac source and it held a steady 20-22inches.

Brent, CR is stock. Heads have been milled .024.

yea Brent, my built motor hasn't been installed yet and won't until my turbo setup is complete w/ my standalone.

I did go ahead and swapped for a new coolant sensor last night. Haven't started/ran it yet since. I'll report my findings

I swapped the coolant sensor. Little to no difference. Though I did fix my stalling problem by swapping pick-ups and TPS's.

I'm still blaming the rich idle/mid-range on cams. It's ok. Perhaps they'll work to my advantage w/ the turbo. =)

Do you have an A/F meter?

I wonder if a little drop in base pressure wouldn't help some.

did that. More than a little. 38psi. Runs a little better like that actually.
No A/F meter.

think Brent is referring to my fuel pressure. It feels alright. It could be better in that range. Mid range seems to be my best right now.
