Have any of you guys looked into using a piggy-back ECU instead of a custom calibration? I used to have the V6 in my Duster, and I remember how much of a pain it was to mod. (That's why I got the turbo motor instead.) I know an A'PEXi SAFC would work, and it would at least allow you to retune your fuel system. If you used a Greddy eManage, you could even tune spark advance and the like.

The advantage of this is that any performance shop worth their dyno could wire this up for you. Also, it would be a "simple" matter of retuning every time you do a new mod.

The downside would be the cost. SAFCs are around $350, plus about $150 for installation (if you don't do it yourself), plus another $150 or more for the actual dyno tune.

I have thought seriously about the ms systems i'am just a little unsure about all of it because once I get the car tuboed and tuned I would still like to daily drive it. I don't know about the reliability of it!

I think there are some strange difficulties trying to use piggybacks on the 3.0 ECU. Its been so long I dont remember what they are.

It's official, my neighbour has become has become a MS dealer. He should be the first Canadian MS dealer (that we know about). So that means I will be going the MS route. I fully support the calibration though! I hope you guys get one soon.

Update is: we are working on it, but slowly. We will bring out a couple of choices first and see how those work out. Don't ask me what/which yet, we are still going through the coding. Truthfully, i do not see anything coming available for at least the next 90 days.
Thanks,
Cindy

Cindy, thanks for fueling our fire. 90 days is peanuts. Just don't think we've lost interest.
