Hi folks,

Anyone know anything about the headers fitted to '96 up vans? They are meant to be a bit better for flow. The only info I've got is that there was a redesign and it was something to do with clearance. Now, is that that the newer vans had more clearance or less, or it had to wind around something? Are they likely to fit on older applications? ('88 van) I'm guessing you'd have to go custom on the piping, but wondering if there's anything drastic about them that make them a definite no.

Also does anyone know how the supposed compression bump happened in '96 (8.9-9.3) , is it in the head or the pistons, or was the block decked?

Seems to be a lot of '96 up used heads around at wreckers these days, just wanna know what I'm getting into, if it's already "factory shaved" as it were.

thanks,

Manifolds bolt up the same. Compression bump came from pistons.
